About Us
Hi, I'm Laura!
Owner & Events Manager
Hi, I’m Laura—the heart behind Scarlet Springs Farm, which I proudly run alongside my husband, Alan, and my incredible mom, Becky.
Alan and I have been inseparable since high school 💕 and now, together, we're raising our three sweet kiddos—ages 6, 3, and 1—on a whole lot of love, land, and laughter.
In 2023, we left behind suburban life to chase our vision of building a family-owned farm business from the ground up. Our mission? To raise our children in the great outdoors—rooted in nature, animals, and the kind of hands-on experiences that teach compassion, grit, joy, and a love for the simple things, while creating a space for others—a place where families can come together to celebrate life’s most special moments.
What about the mini-highlands?! Well, animals have always held a special place in my heart. Since I was little, I’ve had a deep passion for caring for them, and it’s a dream come true to raise our family surrounded by the sweetest mini-highland cows.
Whether you're here for a weekend stay, a wedding, or a special family celebration, Scarlet Springs Farm offers 74 acres of peaceful charm made for gathering. Our hope is to share this space in a way that feels natural, beautiful, and full of heart.
We can’t wait to have you here!

Our Story
A family-owned & operated small business
In 2023, we took a leap of faith leaving behind suburban life to follow our dream of living in the country and raising our three young children to be hard-working, animal-loving, nature-loving, farm kids. What started as a love for animals and a dream of simpler living has grown into Scarlet Springs, a destination for overnight stays, beautiful private parties and unique experiences where elegance meets nature. From our mini-highlands to our thoughtfully designed accommodations and event spaces, everything here is designed with detail & care, and we can’t wait to share it with you and your friends & family.

Meet the Family
A visit to Scarlet Springs always means meeting & working directly with the owners. We're all family here, and we look forward to welcoming you into ours.

Farm Manager
Alan Immelman
Born in South Africa, Alan grew up in North Carolina with his then girlfriend, now wife, Laura, living down the road. Today, Alan is most likely to be spotted on the tractor or cutting some form of grass. His favorite mini-highland is Charlotte and he's still wondering how his wife convienced him to get 74-acres and a herd of highlands.

Lead Designer
Becky Ward
Becky spent her professional career as a Civil Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina. Retirement brought her up to Virginia to be part of the Scarlet Springs family-farm operation and to live steps from her 3 grand-children. Becky is most likely to be spotted cultivated & caring for plants or dreaming up the next project.
