Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?
Unfortunately, due to the custom-nature of our picnics we do not offer refunds. We understand that life happens, and are happy to reschedule your picnic, provided you give us 48 hours notice prior to your scheduled picnic or private party start time. We cannot accommodate partial refunds for guest count modifications less than 7 days prior to your picnic and after the second payment has been completed.
Q: Can I bring my own food?
For luxury picnics, you must select either the charcutiere & cheese, brunch board or full meal options, but you may bring additional food if you would like. For private party venue rentals you may bring in an outside caterer. We will discuss these options more during your venue consultation.
Q: Can I bring my pets?
Unfortunatley, since we are a working farm with a variety of other farm animals on-site, we do not allow you to bring your pet to your picnic, private party or B&B stay.
Q: What happens in the event of inclement weather?
We know weather can be unpredictable and will do our best to work with you in the event bad weather is forecast on the day of your picnic or party. While we do have two covered structures on-site, we do reserve the right to reschedule your picnic due to severe weather.
Q: What are your safety & cleaning measures?
Your health & safety are of the utmost importance. We thoroughouly clean and sanitze all glassware, dinnerware, cutlerly, pillows, blankets and table runners between each picnic.
Q: Can I pet any farm animals?
You are welcome to enjoy our adorable mini-highlands, but we ask that you please do not pet or feed any of them unless you have added a highland immersion experience and are with a SSF handler. Please note that the highlands are horned animals, and if you choose to approach fence lines, you do so at your own risk.
Q: When is payment due?
We require a deposit of 50% to reserve your picnic or party date. If that is not recieved within 48 hours of receipt of your initial invoice, your date will be released. The remaining 50% balance is due 7 days prior to your picnic. By booking with us you agree to our terms & conditions.
Q: What is the venue space like?
Depending on the season, your picnic will either be in the Ridgetop Stable or the heated glass sunroom of The Cottage. The Cottage space allows for winter picnics as it is a fully indoor, heated space, while the Ridgetop Stable is a three-sided structure. We do provide fans or heaters as well when needed for your comfort in the Ridgetop Stable during fringe seasons. For sanitation reasons including your health & safety and the safety of our animals, the picnic portion of your experience will not include any farm animals directly present in the venue space.
Q: What if I am late to my picnic?
Your picnic starts and ends at the pre-determined time regardless of the guests' arrival time. With that said, we understand that traffic in the DMV can be challenging. If you are running more than 15 minutes late, please let us know and we will do our best to work with you.
Q: Where is Scarlet Springs Farm located?
Conveniently located in Waterford, Virginia, Scarlet Springs Farm is easily accessible from Leesburg, Purcellville, Ashburn, Lovettsville, Bluemont, Hamilton & Round Hill. The Spring House is located 35 minutes from Dulles International, Herndon, Sterling & Reston and about 1-hour outside of Washington, DC, Alexandria & Arlington.
